Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 23, 2026

ChargePlan ("we," "us," or "our") is a Tesla smart charge scheduling service operated by ChargePlan (chargeplan.co). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using ChargePlan you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed (encrypted) password. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name and email from those providers.

Tesla vehicle data. When you connect your Tesla, we access your vehicle's charging state, battery level, charge limit, estimated range, and climate state via the Tesla Fleet API. We use this data solely to operate the charging scheduler on your behalf. We do not sell or share your vehicle data with third parties.

Charging history. We log each charging session including battery level, amps set, and whether your schedule was completed on time. This data powers the History page and is only visible to you.

Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your credit card number, CVV, or bank details — Apple handles all payment processing. We store your subscription status and Apple subscriber ID to verify your access level.

Usage data. We collect basic server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security and debugging purposes. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone except as described in this policy.

3. Tesla Data Access

ChargePlan connects to your Tesla vehicle via the official Tesla Fleet API using OAuth authorization. We request only the permissions necessary to operate the scheduler:

You can revoke ChargePlan's access to your Tesla at any time from within the Tesla mobile app under Security & Privacy → Third-Party Apps, or by disconnecting from the Account page in ChargePlan.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers hosted by Railway (railway.app) in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted passwords (bcrypt), signed session tokens (JWT), and HTTPS for all data in transit.

Tesla access tokens are stored securely and used only to send commands you have scheduled. They are never exposed to the frontend or third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Charging history logs are retained indefinitely to power the History page. If you delete your account, all your data including schedules, charging history, and Tesla tokens is permanently deleted within 24 hours.

6. Third-Party Services

ChargePlan uses the following third-party services:

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

7. Your Rights

8. Children's Privacy

ChargePlan is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
